I was putting together this fab collage of goodies I’d ask for to commemorate Mum’s Day’14
…as the day grew closer and the beginning of month expenses had to be paid, I kind of let the idea go…
…there will be another way to make this Mum’s day memorable…
and so there was!
…you know, being a mom is an everyday thing and in that daily-ness we need to find and make special moments…I wouldn’t go as far as to say “make every moment a memorable one” it would be too much for my brain, but we can find those bright spots in our crazy momhood…
…and listening to my son (along with the rest of the 2nd graders) play Mamma Mia on the flute was the brightest spot in this very real Mum’s Day’14
…we may not get a heartfelt thanks at the precise moment we want it the most, but there’s always Mother’s Day celebrations when we wipe the slate clean with a tear here and there and get ready to start anew…
After Mamma Mia, they sang, in chorus, three more songs: Just the Way You Are and Treasure by Bruno Mars, of course you knew that you are hip, up-to-date moms, unlike me… no wonder my son had been humming and singing a chorus or two during bathtime… and they closed the quick & adorable celebration with Ain’t No Mountain High Enough… A.DO.RA.BLE!!!!
My daughter, the teenager, says she made me a pop art painting but left it at school, jajajaaa… you know teenagers, they are cool as cucumbers unless it’s about them… I’ll post a pic as soon as I get my present 🙂
So, as much as I loved the Etsy finds… I can’t help but remember the quote
on that lovely note, I found this fabulous video on one of the blogs I follow Peanut Butter On The Keyboard in today’s post titled Moms, You Matter…
Get yourself some tissue and watch…
Honestly, in the privacy of my home and thoughts (not so private since I’ve shared a few here) I have my days when I feel very afraid of all I might not be doing well and the consequences in my children’s futures… though, I bring peace two my heart reminding myself that I am doing the best I can with what I’ve got and that we are in God’s hands always and forever…
However, I do get that wonderful, unexpected pat on the back when a mom or teacher speaks well of my children, it feels so good (as I commented on the blog) that I do not hold back on praising other’s children… we need to let each other know that we are doing good, that our efforts are paying off…
We may not know what the future holds, nevertheless, today all’s well!
SIGH OF RELIEF!!!
PLEASE, PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO and thanks to Shana Galen from Peanut Butter on The Keyboard for sharing it with us
