I just became aware of an unexpected and up to now ignored personal reaction to something…
Being a creative myself, I just noticed I felt a certain
STING or DISCOMFORT
when reading the texts that accompany some PINS…
Let me be more concrete: the texts that explain the pins of images where we appreciate ART in any of its forms, be it paintings, prints, innovative gadgets, etc.
Many people pin those images because there’s something about them that they like or feel attracted to, so they nonchalantly (casual, blasé, indifferent, unconcerned) write: NICE COLORS, COOL CONTRAST, WOULD LOOK NICE IN MY KITCHEN/BATHROOM/OFFICE…
but make no mention of the AUTHOR’S NAME…
and that stings…
you see, all art -in my point of view- as soon as it’s out there, in the public’s eye, being accepted as part of today’s trend BECOMES AN EXPRESSION OF THE TIMES,
a new addition to our CULTURAL HERITAGE…
and it doesn’t happen by coincidence or by the natural evolution of something…
SOMEONE SAT DOWN TO INTERPRET HIS/HER SURROUNDINGS- EXPERIENCES- DREAMS
and transform it into something for the rest of us to enjoy,
and that SOMEONE has a NAME
at first I’d have the impulse to repin those lovely images, but now (and specially after all the negative comments about proper credit to original sources) I go to the source and -in case you haven’t done it- HIGHLIGHT (you know, when you trace the text with the cursor) THE NAME OF THE PRODUCT/PIECE OF ART + CREATOR,
then I click on the pin it button and when the pinterest window appears it’s got the information on there already,
no copying, no misspelling names, nothing
JUST AN INFORMATIVE PIN TO SHARE
ANYWHO…
I’ve stopped repinning and started putting together a fabulous collection of DISCOVER posts,
because there are some incredible creatives out there that I have got to share with YOU,
hopefully you’ll heart will go crazy as mine does,
crazy in awe and admiration of such marvelous artistic capabilities
so stay tuned!!
AND BE AN INFORMATIVE PINNER!!
Hello. Hola! Very nice to be greeted from over seas. Please do keep reading and stay in contact telling me your thoughts on the post!

As much as I want to, I find “pinning with credits” very confusing. Therefore I really don’t pin much. You’re gonna have to teach me.
importantísimo mi chula!! imagine it’s one of your super, insightful, thought provoking posts that another is passing on as his/her own NO SE VALE!!! pues igualito…xoxo
Thank you to remind me to give credit to the author in all my images I get online… 🙂 Promise to remember to do that!!
Love to read you, as always..
