THINK…LESS is MORE…MIES VAN DER ROHE google b-day doodle

Not so long ago I wrote a post inspired by this SIMPLE but very THOUGHT PROVOKING quote by one of the modern architecture masters LUDWIG MIES VAN DER ROHE…and today as I turned on my computer I was (as many of you!) happily surprised by GOOGLE’S b-day doodle…

collage by ME with images from various sites..links follow

Unless, you’re a fan of Architecture history, you might know him or heard his name when refering to his FURNITURE COLLECTION specially the BARCELONA CHAIR that can now be found in replicas everywhere…although I think KNOLL has the best collection:

“Knoll is the only manufacturer who can legally call their product

‘the Mies Van Der Rohe Barcelona Chair’.

Knoll licensed this design,

directly from Mies Van Der Rohe in the 1950’s.”

for more on the curvaceous, sleek, modern, stylish, classic BARCELONA CHAIR, please visit

and please also skip on over to another of my posts titled LESS STUFF IS MORE HAPPINESS featuring a fabulously thought provoking TEDconference
