THINK…is it that I’ve been awake for 12 hours now (and it’s not even 6 o’clock) or…

that my husband roars…oops, I mean SNORES from the moment he puts his head on the pillow (sometimes eyes don’t even have to be closed) to the moment he gets up the next morning…

whatever the reason may be… I’M FEELING SOOOOO TIRED right about now…

I kinda cleaned the kitchen…

I’m kinda concentrated on this post trying at the same time to snap out of this sluggish feeling…

because I’VE GOT TO DO HOMEWORK WITH MY 5 YEAR-OLD…

in this half asleep/half awake state I’m currently in, I ask myself:

(pause, my daughter just asked me for a synonym to something)

OK…I ask myself: didn’t I already pay my dues in the academic sector…

why, oh why does a 5 year-old have to do so much homework? and…

don’t the teachers know that we’re thinking bad thoughts about them?

…for having us trying to convince the child on the importance of doing another worksheet to practice his name when he feels quite satisfied with his caveman handwriting…

Reality check: My son’s about to start Elementary school, my daughter’s about to finish, so this means I’ve got at least 17 more years of this (jajajaaaaaaa) that is if neither of them decide to be doctors…

and I do want for them to know that they can count on me and my previous experience in that arena (homework and super cool school projects), so the only logical thing to do  is to STOP MY HUSBAND’S ROARING SNORING…

My last profound, restful night’s sleep was the one I had the day before we got married…from that moment on I’ve half slept, between hearing him snore and counting the seconds he stops breathing only to snap out of it with a huge roar ( I think that’s called sleep apnea, right? I know it’s not to be taken lightly but I can’t force him to have that taken care of OR CAN I? hmm!!)

I’ve even joked telling him that his problem is not respiratory but a shortage of skin, because as soon as he closes his eyes his mouth goes wide open and like pandora’s box I have no idea what might come out: it can be a lion’s roar, a lawnmower motor or, if he’s having one of his adventure dreams, a whole conversation in a slurry drunken voice …all the while I’m thinking (like the Pet Shop Boys’ song) WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS?

Then when my children were born I started sleeping with one eye open and one foot on the ground (you know, just in case!)…just kidding!! jeje, or am I…you’ll never know

If anyone has a homemade remedy for this…for the husband or for me…please tell me about it

for today, I’m giving the kiddies an early bath and closing up shop by 9 (fingers crossed, hope the husband doesn’t call asking WHAT’S FOR DINNER?)

  1. ajajajaaa… what a way to end the holiday visit: btw YOU SNORE!! xoxo…my dad gave me some earplugs when the children were born, typical of a man to think that ignoring a newborn will make him/her stop crying (at least not mine)…at that moment i felt offended, but now i wish i had kept those earplugs…btw2, the husband is, in fact, as I write getting his very sore throat checked by a specialist…there’s still hope for a good night’s sleep after all!! love you sister

  2. Uhm, May I make a recommendation? I don’t know if you’re up to it, but sounds like you need EAR PLUGS, the fluffy sponge soft kind that cushion your ear. I don’t know that it solves the problem for you, but it’s worth a shot. And send your hubby to the ear-ose-throat doctor, please. He needs to get that checked. (I will also go, as my family has informed me I also “roar-snore” during the night.) Lovely homework exercises, by the way!
